Today A Quiet Passion, a new biopic about Emily Dickinson, goes into nationwide release. Given the rave reviews I imagine it will do relatively well at the box office and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a nod or two come awards season.
I also expect that sales of her poetry collections will experience a bump as well, though exactly how much remains to be seen. I'm conducting my own informal survey, as I went to my local independent bookseller and counted how many copies (3) they had on their shelves. I'll check back in a couple of weeks to see whether I'm prescient or full of shit about this.
