Have you ever heard of Flora Tristan? I'm ashamed to say I had not until I read Evans's description of her, and she sounds like she was an absolutely amazing person.
It's things like this which makes Evans's book such an amazing read. It's almost exhaustingly comprehensive, but that comprehensiveness is introducing me to aspects of the 19th century I've never been exposed to before. And it;s given me an idea for a bibliographic essay on the series that I need to float to Choice -- as if I didn't already have enough projects on my plate!
