It’s Christmas Eve, which means it’s time for Jólabókaflóð! This is rapidly becoming my favorite holiday tradition — and this is only the second year we’ve done it, too.
This year I got the exact book I was hoping for, which was a collection of Ross Macdonald novels:
I’ve already started the first novel, and I suspect I’ll have the others read by the end of the year.
Even better, my wife likes the book that I got her:
She’s a longtime Austen fan, and given that we’re visiting Bath on our trip to England next year I thought she’d enjoy it as well. I suspect I’ll be reading it too before we go — and possibly an Austen novel or two along with it.
