Memorial Day weekend reading

The Impeachers: The Trial of Andrew Johnson and the Dream of a Just Nation - Brenda Wineapple

Yesterday I did something I rarely do: I walked into a Barnes & Noble and purchased a newly published book. I would have gone to my local independent bookstore to do it,  but they were already sold out of copies of Brenda Wineapple's book on the Johnson impeachment. This only increased my interest in reading it, so I broke down and went to the chain. It helped that they're running a 20% off sale this weekend, so I took advantage of it.

Of course now that I have it, the drive to read it is ebbing a little. Still, now that I'm done with Michelle Obama's autobiography I'll probably start it shortly. I'm hoping it lives up to it's hype, too, as I find myself with plenty of time to read this weekend and I want something really enjoyable to read.
